STEM HQ ‘Discovery Centre’ now open in Tauranga’s CBD

The 1st of October saw us open our doors to our community and visitors to Tauranga. Our first week has seen a total sell out with well over 1,300 tickets snapped by families taking advantage of the glorious spring weather during the school holidays and the great location close by the City’s picturesque waterfront.

STEM Wana, a registered charity, responsible for the award-winning STEM Festival (STEMFest) that drew in 3,500 visitors to Durham Street for a one day celebration back in October 2019, have adapted their activities to deliver on a series of STEM Initiatives for 2020, of which STEM HQ is a part of.

STEM Wana’s STEM HQ brings educational entertainment to Tauranga and the Bay. A play and learn environment makes way for sparking curiosity and exploration. Featuring six separate exhibit zones and a ‘feature zone’ that changes weekly, there are activities you’ll want to keep coming back for.

Open from the 1st October until the end of December 2020.

Exhibit spaces include a Space Zone, Sponsors Exhibitor Zone, Light Zone, Engineering Nook, Earth Science Zone, and Mini Maker’s Station. STEM HQ will also have an ‘indoor lawn’ that hosts rotating activities and featured workshops with our sponsors.
