STEM in the Community
A series of free events with the aim to take STEM engagement to different schools, communities and locations in the Western Bay of Plenty outside of major cities and towns that might not usually have the opportunity to participate in these types of STEM activities.
Schools Outreach
The content of this programme is designed for primary and intermediate schools students (8 to 12 years old). Tamariki work on a project over two days with the SWT team and our content partners and have the chance to present their project based learning to their whānau at a community day on the weekend.
We’ve supported the following primary schools:
- 2022: Pongakawa, Katikati, and Te Puna
- 2023: Omokoroa Number 1, Waihi Beach and Oropi
