Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Children’s Day 2026 Explorer Wayfinding App (“the App”),
you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and TCC’s Privacy Statement.

About the App
The App provides digital maps and wayfinding information for Children’s Day 2026 to
help visitors navigate the event. The App can be accessed through a web browser on a
mobile device. It is not downloaded from an app store, and it does not require
installation. Access depends on your device, connectivity, and browser functionality.

Ownership and Endorsements
The App is created, operated, and owned by STEM Wana Trust. The App is not sponsored, endorsed,
administered by, or associated with Google, Apple, Facebook, or any other external
platform.

Licence to Use the App

TCC grants you a nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable licence to use the App for
the purpose of navigating Children’s Day 2026. You must not:

  • copy, modify, distribute, or reproduce App content;
  • extract or harvest data from the App;
  • embed or frame the App within another website or service; or
  • use TCC trademarks or identifiers without prior written permission.

Any breach may result in immediate termination of your access to the App.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • use the App lawfully and respectfully;
  • supervise children’s use of the App where appropriate; and
  • not interfere with the App’s operation, security, or integrity.

You are responsible for ensuring your device is secure and protected against malware.

You agree to indemnify TCC for any claims, losses, or damages arising from misuse of
the App or breach of these Terms.

Information, Data, and Privacy

The App does not collect identifiable personal information such as your name, email
address, or contact details. Basic usage data may be collected, such as:

  • device type;
  • browser type;
  • general usage patterns (e.g., pages visited); and
  • approximate location if you choose to enable location services.

Any information collected may be used to:

  • support App functionality;
  • display your approximate position on event maps;
  • track user interactions to gather insights for future planning and improve event experiences;
  • assist with event operations and safety; and
  • help TCC improve services over time.

TCC handles any information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and TCC’s
Privacy Statement. You may request access to or correction of your information by
contacting TCC.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The App may use cookies or similar tools to identify your device and improve
functionality. Cookies identify your device but not you personally. Some cookies may be
essential for basic functionality and cannot be disabled.

Accuracy and Availability

TCC aims to ensure App information is accurate at the time of publication; however:

  • TCC makes no warranty that the information displayed is current, complete, or
  • accurate;
  • event layouts, stall positions, or schedules may change without notice;
  • the App requires internet or mobile data access, which is the responsibility of the
  • user; and
  • TCC and STEM Wana Trust do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error free operation.

TCC is not responsible for technical issues such as:

  • connectivity failures;
  • device incompatibility;
  • data corruption;
  • unauthorised access; or
  • network congestion.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App content, including maps, graphics, and
branding, belong to Tauranga City Council and/or STEM Wana Trust, as applicable.

Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute App content without prior written consent.

ThirdParty Links

The App may contain links to external websites. TCC is not responsible for:

  • the content of those sites;
  • their privacy practices; or
  • any harm resulting from their use.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
  • Tauranga City Council and STEM Wana Trust disclaim all warranties, express or
  • implied.
  • Neither party is liable for loss, damage, or injury arising from:
  • reliance on App information;
  • technical failures;
  • device issues; or
  • user error.

Updates, Suspension and Termination

TCC may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or amend these Terms at any time
for technical, security, or operational reasons. Any updates to these Terms will be
published via official TCC channels or within the App.
Your continued use of the App following publication of updated Terms constitutes
acceptance of any changes.
